Meta Lab retail stores will feature interactive spaces of 900 square feet designed for testing AI-powered devices in the US and Canada.
Meta is making its next move into consumer goods by launching a new series of temporary Meta Labs retail outlets inside Best Buy stores in the US and Canada.

As Meta explains: “We’re excited to introduce the Meta Lab concept within Best Buy stores, where more than 50 dedicated interactive Meta Lab zones will soon open inside Best Buy locations across the US and Canada. Each Best Buy Meta Lab is a sleek 900-square-foot ‘store-in-a-store’ designed to provide hands-on product discovery. Here, people can explore the expanding lineup of Meta AI glasses and VR headsets through interactive demos, smart mirrors, personalized try-ons, and more – all supported by Meta sales specialists.”
Clearly, Meta’s focus is on AI glasses, as the company looks to advance its ‘personal superintelligence’ strategy, providing always-on access to its AI tools for everyday task assistance.
Special mirrors and fitting systems play an important role in demonstrating such devices. And these efforts are already paying off. In February, CNBC reported that 7 million pairs of Meta’s AI glasses were sold in 2025, compared to 2 million sales in 2023 and 2024 combined.
Likely, the increased interest is tied to a rethinking of the glasses concept with a focus on AI, with Meta embedding more AI features into the device to capitalize on the broader hype and drive sales.
As part of the Meta Lab project, various displays dedicated to the expanding lineup of AI glasses will be featured. Additionally, Meta is reportedly working on an AI-powered pendant, providing another means for delivering AI prompts in daily life.
The displays also include Meta’s VR devices, though the company appears to have been putting less emphasis on its VR development lately.
Indeed, last week, Meta brought in Snapchat’s former director of creator partnerships to lead a new initiative to get more celebrities and influencers to use its AI glasses.
Such initiatives are aimed not only at regular shoppers but also at content creators who actively use Meta’s products to build their personal brands and engage with their audience. For these users, this material may be helpful: How the ‘Creator’ account on Instagram differs and how to switch to it
Those efforts are already seeing significant success, with pop star Doja Cat showing off her own custom Meta AI glasses this week.

Meta is also planning to release its own augmented reality glasses next year. These new displays will provide major opportunities for consumer engagement and hype around Meta’s developing products.
Meta says the Meta Lab rollout will begin this month.
