Apple is preparing to release one of the largest Siri updates in history. This fall, alongside iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and other new operating systems, users will get Siri AI – a next-generation intelligent assistant with expanded artificial intelligence capabilities. However, the new version of Siri will not be available on all Apple devices.
Siri AI is currently in beta testing, with the official launch expected alongside the release of the new operating systems. The company has already revealed the list of devices that will be able to take advantage of the new features.
The following iPhone models will receive Siri AI support:
- iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max;
- iPhone Air;
- iPhone 17;
- iPhone 17e;
- iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max;
- iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus;
- iPhone 16e;
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Among tablets, the update will come to iPad Pro with M1 and newer processors, iPad Air based on M1 and more recent chips, as well as the iPad mini with the A17 Pro processor.
For computers, the list turned out to be simpler – Siri AI will be available on all Macs with Apple’s proprietary Apple Silicon processors, starting with M1 and newer chip generations.
New features will also arrive on Apple Watch, but they require the watch to be paired with a compatible iPhone. Supported models include Apple Watch Series 9 and newer, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later versions, as well as Apple Watch SE 3.
Apple Vision Pro owners will also not be left out – Siri AI will work on all versions of the headset.
At the same time, Apple warns that not all artificial intelligence features will be available even on compatible devices. The most realistic customization of Siri’s speech rate, intonation, and expressiveness will only work on iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPad with M4 processor and at least 12GB of unified memory, Mac with M3 and newer chips with at least 12GB of memory, and Apple Vision Pro with M5 processor.
Additionally, Apple’s most powerful on-device AI model will also only be available on a subset of newer devices. The company has not yet specified which Siri AI features will depend on this model, but it is already clear that only owners of the most modern equipment will get the full set of capabilities.
Thus, the launch of Siri AI will be one of the major events in Apple’s ecosystem this fall. However, users of older devices should check their hardware compatibility in advance, as many new AI features will only be available on the latest generations of iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
